Seeker Help

1. What is the difference between a seeker and a seller?
Seekers are defined as individuals who join Double Drummer primarily to search for other seekers and sellers. Sellers are defined as coaches, clubs, sporting bodies, retailers, or any business entity/individual who wishes to sell products and/or services to DD seekers.

2. Do I have to pay to join Double Drummer?
No… you can join, search and read any seeker or seller profiles for free.

3. What personal information am I required to submit to join Double Drummer?
You don’t need to answer all questions on the seeker sign up form to become a member. Answers to questions with an asterisk next to them are mandatory. These include your name, e-mail address, username, password, gender, date of birth and your suburb, state & postcode. We require these details so we’re able to identify you as a unique member, provide you with secure access to your personal home page and to allow other seekers to find you, based on this basic information about you.

4. Will providing more details about the activities/sports I like, help me find a better match?
Yes! While the questions we ask about the activities/sports you play or would like to try are mostly optional, the more detail you provide, the more likely you are to find the right match when you’re searching for a playing partner.

5. What personal details will be seen by Double Drummer web site users when they search for playing partners?
Your profile is what Double Drummer web site users will see when seeking playing partners. Your profile will show whatever information you’re happy to provide such as your: username, gender, age, languages spoken, locality, activities/sport, playing standard, availabilities (day/time to play), favourite sports to watch, other areas of interest, whether or not you have young kids and other considerations (e.g. prefer non-smoking). Your profile will not reveal your real name or your contact details (phone, e-mail address, etc.). Remember, you can choose to not have your profile seen by un-ticking the permission box that allows ‘other seekers to contact me’. Permission can be changed from your personal home page (also known as my place) at any time.

6. How do I find playing partners?
To find playing partners, click on ‘search’ and select the ‘playing partners’ tab. Fill in the activity/sport you’re searching for, your availability, location where you want to play, playing standard and other relevant criteria. Submit your search and a list of seekers matching your search criteria will be displayed. The list of seekers is sorted by ‘search relevance’ – or a ‘match rate’ based on your search criteria. You can however sort and filter the list in other ways. Give Double Drummer search a try!

7. How much do I have to pay to contact seekers and sellers?
Double Drummer works on a ‘pay-per-contact’ model. There are no joining fees or on-going monthly/annual fees. You pay just $1 when you make contact with a fellow seeker. And there’s no charge at all for contacting sellers.

8. How do I make payments to Double Drummer?
In order to contact fellow seekers, you will need to purchase DD credits. One DD credit is valued at AUD1.00 (inclusive of GST). A minimum purchase of 10 DD credits is required for each credit card transaction. One DD credit will be deducted from your DD credit balance for every contact you make that results in a response (whether positive or otherwise). Contacting sellers is free and therefore does not require the use of DD credits.

9. Can I try Double Drummer before making any payments?
Yes! As we really want you to trial Double Drummer, we’re offering a special deal for a limited period of time. Join by 30 September 2010 and you’ll automatically receive 2 FREE DD credits, which you can use to contact 2 fellow seekers.

10. What happens after I contact a fellow seeker?
An e-mail alert will be sent to the seeker you wish to contact. The one DD credit you used to contact that seeker will be “frozen”, meaning not permanently deducted from your account, until that seeker responds to the e-mail. The seeker you contacted will be able to view your profile and decide if he/she is interested in contacting you. You will then receive an e-mail informing you of the result of your contact. If the result is favourable, you will be provided with contact details (e-mail and/or phone) for that seeker. That seeker will also be provided with your contact details. From this point on, no further DD credits will be required from you. You can start contacting each other directly. If the seeker you’ve selected does not want to link up with you, you will receive an e-mail to that effect.

11. Do I pay for responding to a contact?
Yes. If a seeker contacts you and you would like to connect directly with that seeker, one DD credit (or $1) will be deducted from your account. However, if you indicate that you’re not interested in contacting that seeker, no payment is required.

12. What happens if I don’t receive a response from a seeker I contacted?
Each contact you make has a two-week (14 days) time-out period… meaning if the seeker you contacted has not responded within two weeks, your “frozen” DD credits will be reinstated to your account.

13. What if I change my mind about making a contact?
If you change your mind and wish to cancel a contact you’ve initiated, you can do so if the contact hasn’t already resulted in a response. You can cancel a contact by deleting the username under your ‘awaiting reply’ list from the ‘my contacts’ section of your personal home page. The “frozen” DD credit related to this contact will then be reinstated to your account.

14. What if my search doesn’t result in a list of possible contacts?
As Double Drummer has just launched and we’re still building up our community of seekers and sellers, it’s possible that some of your searches may not produce results at this time. We recommend that you save those searches so you can easily go back to them in future. You can find those saved searches in the ‘my searches’ section of your personal home page. You can also ask to be notified of search results via e-mail. Just tick the ‘please notify me of profiles that match this search’ button during your search.

15. What happens when I contact a seller?
Contacting sellers doesn’t cost you anything. When you decide to contact a seller, you will immediately see their contact details (phone, e-mail, web site, address). You can then either contact the seller yourself or you can leave your details for the seller to contact you. The list of sellers is first sorted by ‘search relevance’ (the match rated against your search criteria) and then by their ‘seller rating’ (professional experience, etc.). You can however sort and filter the list in other ways. Give Double Drummer seller search a try! It’s FREE!

16. What is a ‘seller rating’?
One of Double Drummer’s primary goals is to make sure our seekers find quality sellers. Therefore we encourage our seller members to continually improve on their professional qualifications and experience. Double Drummer sellers are awarded ‘DD wings’ to graphically illustrate their professional experience. DD wings are awarded based on each seller’s qualifications in their specialty field, memberships to industry bodies and number of years in business. Sellers can receive a maximum of 5 DD wings. The more DD wings a seller has, the higher its ‘seller rating’ and position in the search results.

17. What are ‘RELEVANT LINKS’ when I’m searching?
You can find a list of ‘RELEVANT LINKS’ (on the right hand side) when you’re searching. Relevant Links are offers from sellers that are relevant to the activity/sport and locality of your current search. For example, if you’re searching for a tennis partner in an area of Melbourne, you might find Relevant Links on tennis coaching, tennis clubs, tennis competitions and social groups in that area, a local racquet re-string service, etc. Give Relevant Links a try. Clicking on them is FREE!

Activities and events created by other seekers and sellers that are relevant to the sport and locality of your current search also appear on the RELEVANT LINKS.

18. How can I change my profile details?
You can change the details within your profile on your personal home page, also known as ‘my place’. You must login with your username and password to access ‘my place’. In my place, you can add a photo, change your e-mail, delete an activity/sport you’re no longer interested in, change permission levels, review your saved searches, e-mail a seeker or a seller you’ve contacted before, buy more DD credits … just about everything except change your username.

19. What if I forget my username and/or password?
Double Drummer can e-mail your username and password to you… just click on ‘Forgot your login details?’ on the Double Drummer home page. You will be asked to provide the answer to your secret question. Your secret question and answer are asked when you first sign up. If you answer your secret question correctly, your username and password will be e-mailed to you. So please make sure your e-mail address at ‘my place’ is current. If you forget the answer to your secret question, click here to contact us.

20. Do I need new login details if I want to be a seller as well as a seeker?
Yes. You will need a new username and password to be a seller.  Please note that as a seller you will be using a different set of DD credits.  You cannot use your seeker DD credits to pay for your transactions as a seller, and vice versa.

21. Can I report members displaying inappropriate behaviour?
Absolutely! Double Drummer does not tolerate inappropriate behaviour from members. You may report members in confidence to info@doubledrummer.com. Double Drummer commits to investigating every member complaint and take appropriate action where necessary.

22. Will I receive unwanted e-mails from other seekers and sellers?
No. Double Drummer respects your privacy. You will only receive communications from those seekers and sellers to whom you have given permission to contact you. Occasionally you will receive a relevant message from Double Drummer itself, but only if we have some good news or something important and relevant to tell you.
